Silk Road’s Historical Significance

Historical Significance is what we as historians identify “something in history as significant.” The Silk Road dates back to 130 B.C. through 1453 A.D. and expanded from southeast Europe to east Asia. This was available for China, Persia, Rome, Turkey, India, and Egypt; where clash of culture, religion, politics, and beliefs took place. This caused these civilizations to expand and brought in resources that wouldn’t have been readily available such as silk, perfumes, medicines, and most important: Ideas. The significance of the silk road is that it connected Europe to Asia: totally different worlds. If the silk road never existed culture would have developed completely different and these distant places would be even further distant.
